Megan Thee Stallion sure knows how to make a grand entrance, doesn’t she? For her latest appearance, the “Savage” rapper attended the 2023 Country Music Awards in Austin, Texas, Sunday night. The night, star-studded with attendees like Reba McEntyre, Alanis Morissette, and Blake Shelton, is the biggest night for country music. Zac Brown Band won Group/Duo Video of the Year for their “Out in the Middle” video, and Kane Brown and Katelyn Brown won Video of the Year for their visual “Thank God.”
Back to Thee Stallion, the rap superstar presented—one of the biggest musical crossovers of the night—the CMT Equal Play award to “her new bestie” Shania Twain. Upon arriving at the podium to hand the trophy off, Megan tried to speak over a crowd roaring with adulation, which she at one point begged to settle down so she could announce the winner. It was a moment that made her fans on Twitter, and the attendees, beam with smiles.
Feeling bold in blue, Megan decided to opt for a floor-length gown by Defaïence in that hue that had a sculpturesque vibe that made a nice statement on the seafoam-colored carpet. The dress had a high, square neckline teamed with long sleeves. Aligning with Meg Thee Stallion’s typical fashion codes, her dress had a hip cutout adorned by a piece of white abstract-shaped cutout overlay in a contrasting figure.
Perhaps one of the most talked about aspects since Megan has made her great return is her beautiful curly afro. It felt reminiscent of the splendor and grandeur of the natural hair movement from the 1970s. Megan’s fluffy afro framed her face elegantly, bringing some shea butter love to the carpet.
As for accessories, the Houston native went with a pair of chunky white hoops that matched the material of her cutout embellishment and a matching bangle. (She also donned bright white nail polish to finish the look.)
Megan Thee Stallion’s shoes got covered up by the billowing hem of his dress, but it’s safe to say that she threw on a pair of pumps or heels that elevated this stylish red carpet moment.
As stated before, Megan’s sartorial taste is modern and edgy with a sleek twist. For example, speaking of Thee Stallion’s return, she made her first red carpet appearance, since her social media hiatus, at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party, where she wore a strapless black floor-length mermaid gown by Bach Mai styled by Law Roach. But, when she doesn’t feel like taking on the world dressed to the nines, she posts pictures of her in casual tube tops, vibrantly colored separates, and body-hugging dresses.
Megan Thee Stallion is a multi-hyphenated talent with four Grammys and multiple BET Hip Hop Awards to her credit. She has also strived to make a name for herself within the fashion industry, starring in campaigns for brands like Coach and Mugler.
