Tracee Ellis Ross shows why she’s one of fashion’s “it” girls with her latest event ensemble.
The “Black-ish” star shared a photoset on Instagram today showcasing her beautiful attire for the inaugural Fashion Trust U.S. Awards in Los Angeles last night. The Fashion Trust U.S. is a nonprofit initiative dedicated to discovering, funding, and nurturing young design talent and helping them establish a flourishing brand. Some of the prominent fashion figures on the board of the program include stylists Karla Welch and Law Roach, along with LB media founder Laura Brown, the former editor-in-chief of InStyle, and Harper’s Bazaar editor-in-chief Samira Nasr.
For the event, Ross went with a black Erdem number from the label’s FW23 collection. The dress was made with lace and featured a high neckline and a ruffled peplum that added volume to its flowy composition. The hemline of the dress was ankle-length for easy movement.
Ross accessorized her look with bold yellow gloves, also from the Erdem FW23 collection, which covered up her long sleeves and brought some drama. The sleeves were gathered at the wrists and had cascades of fabric that jutted out from Ross’ body like wings. She also went simple with the jewelry and opted for dangle diamond earrings.
On the footwear front, she donned a pair of yellow pointed-toe slingbacks from Christian Louboutin with an abstract-shaped strap in a bright canary yellow hue. The shoes also had a heel height of approximately four inches.
When it comes to Ross’ sartorial repertoire, she tends to gravitate towards modern and avant-garde silhouettes. From elegant tailoring to brightly colored separates and bold outerwear, Ross has a firm grasp on what it means to be “groundbreaking” in fashion. Some of her favorite brands include Loewe, Paco Rabanne, Larroude, and Christopher John Rogers, to name a few.
The Los Angeles native is known for acting in shows like “Girlfriends” and “Black-ish,” Ross has also strived to make a name for herself within the fashion industry. She has starred in campaigns for brands like J.Crew and Kenzo, and she has also had her own collaborative clothing line with JCPenney.
