By now, we all know that Billy Porter lives for a dramatic red-carpet appearance, and his latest didn’t disappoint.
The “Pose” actor attended the 80th Golden Globes last night, where he decided to go courageous in crimson.
Porter sauntered down the runway in a custom Christian Siriano tuxedo gown that looked identical to the 2019 Oscars variation he wore—expect, it gets a vibrant pick-me-up.
It had a white button-up shirt that popped out from underneath his jacket, complemented with a matching crimson bow tie. The dress also had a double-breasted design for a timeless finish.
Porter’s shoes for the evening were a pair of chunky silver platforms whose silver sequins brightly sparkled as he posed across the red carpet.
To bring the look on home, Billy Porter slips silver metallic rings on his fingers that shined juxtaposed to his coordinating nail polish.
The 80th Golden Globe awards debuted at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles last night. The star-studded night featured appearances from stars like Jenna Ortega, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Rihanna, and many more. Angela Bassett won an award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her portrayal of Queen Ramonda in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” and Michelle Yeoh won Best Actress in a Motion Picture — Comedy or Musical for her role of Evelyn Quan Wang in the box-office hit “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”
Among the winners of the night was Eddie Murphy, who received the Cecil B. DeMille Award given by the Hollywood Press for his contributions to the entertainment world. And Ryan Murphy accepted the Carol Burnett Award for his contributions to television on or off screen—it’s during his acceptance speech that Murphy spotlighted Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Blanca Rodriguez of Pose, for being the first transwoman to win a Golden Globe—the crowd gave a standing ovation.
