Sheryl Lee Ralph Pumps Through in a Purple Aliette Dress for the 2023 Golden Globes

If it’s one thing Auntie Sheryl Lee Ralph will do, it’s turn out a beautiful red carpet look every time.

The “Abbott Elementary” star attended the 80th Golden Globes last night, where she decided that purple was the color for the evening.

For the look, she went with a custom Aliette gown, styled by her daughter Ivy Coco Maurice, that featured a bold crystal pattern dashed throughout alongside paillettes. It was sleeveless and had a tall, square neckline for the moment to remain sophisticated while still feeling fresh and chic. It took Jason Rembert and the Aliette team 960 hours to complete the dress.

Although her gown’s dramatic train didn’t allow for peeks at her footwear, Ralph tagged that Gucci made her shoes for the evening on her Instagram photos for the event. Ralph likely threw on a pair of platforms or punchy pumps that went well with her radiant attire.

Finally, the Connecticut native went sleek and minimal with her hairdo selection, opting for a bone-straight, middle-parted style.

The 80th Golden Globe awards debuted at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles last night. The star-studded night featured appearances from stars like Jenna Ortega, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Rihanna, and many more. Angela Bassett won an award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her portrayal of Queen Ramonda in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” and Michelle Yeoh won Best Actress in a Motion Picture — Comedy or Musical for her role of Evelyn Quan Wang in the box-office hit “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”

Among the winners of the night was Eddie Murphy, who received the Cecil B. DeMille Award given by the Hollywood Press for his contributions to the entertainment world. And Ryan Murphy accepted the Carol Burnett Award for his contributions to television on or off screen—it’s during his acceptance speech that Murphy spotlighted Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Blanca Rodriguez of Pose, for being the first transwoman to win a Golden Globe—the crowd gave a standing ovation.
