Doechii is fashion’s next “it” girl, and her latest post proves it.
The “Persuasive” singer shared a video to her Instagram feed Monday showcasing the multihyphenate attending The Model Experience Fashion Week Festival in Los Angeles last Saturday. The show happened just before more and more in the fashion world began to wonder if the industry should take Los Angeles Fashion Week more seriously.
The word of the day for Doechii was denim, due to her matching denim outfit. It’s part of the Jean Paul Gaultier x Knwls collaborative collection that debuted in September. She wears the green Denim Corset Bra, which features flattering ribcage cutouts, a square neckline and thick straps, and the green Denim Corset Mini Shorts, which have a lace-up design on the sides and intricate detailing all over.
The glam! Another facet of the Doechii brand you can count on is a sickening beat. This time, she opted for a green, black and gold color palette on her eyes and lips, which accented her green outfit nicely while highlighting her face.
Next, for footwear, the Tampa native slipped on a pair of brown knee-high leather boots that also lent themselves to the lace-up vibe of the shorts due to the design mechanism being a part of the boots and added a brown leather buckle strap across the foot of the shoe to up the ante. The boots have a pointed-toe design reminiscent of popular styles in the early aughts with animal embossing on the leather. With a heel height of about three inches and a slender, square-shaped heel, it’s safe to say that Doechii put her best foot forward.
Can we ask one question? Are we in the midst of Doechii’s hat—or, more specifically, her trucker hat era? She wore a Dsquared2 trucker hat in a sleek Dsquared2 gown at the MTV Video Music Awards earlier in the month. Please don’t call us weird or think it’s the fashion police, but trucker hats are in. But we’ll take whatever the Swamp Princess gives! Anyway, the “What It Is?” songstress went with a brown baseball cap with the words “Terra Incognita” etched across an emblem resembling a crest.
But that wasn’t all the “Booty Drop” rapper wore for accessories. She threw on multiple chains, some with shiny cross pendants, some with brightly colored elements, multiple silver link bracelets and a few blinged-out rings.
Showcasing her affinity for fashion, Doechii often posts pictures of her wearing fashion-forward garments to her Instagram feed. For example, she recently wore a pink top with a blooming flower on the shoulder, a ruffled bikini bottom, and matching ruffle knee-high flip-flop boots by Fancì Club for a photoset. She also wore a black off-the-shoulder tuxedo with corseting and a black bodysuit underneath for a unified, avant-garde ‘gram moment.
