Halle Bailey channels her new Disney Princess energy beautifully for the 2023 Oscars.
The star of Disney’s impending reimagining of “The Little Mermaid,” actress posed on the red carpet for the 95th Annual Academy Awards today, where she was striking in blue.
She wore a teal strapless tulle gown from Dolce & Gabbana that we think even Ariel would be proud of, which incorporated a caged bodice and a full-bodied skirt that twirled and floated as Bailey strolled.
Bailey’s signature locs were on display for the event, and she styled them into a beautiful bun played with dimension and volume. And for accessories, Bailey went with a diamond chain and pendant that twinkled as bright as her smile.
Unfortunately, Bailey’s shoes got covered up by her gorgeous, big hemline, but it’s safe to say that she went with a pair of pumps that matched her regal appearance.
Bailey also took the stage at the Oscars to debut a new trailer for her new film “The Little Mermaid.” The movie will release on May 26, 2023, and is Disney’s modern take on the old ‘80s classic. Rob Marshall directed the movie, and Melissa McCartney stars in the flick as Ursula.
The 95th Annual Academy Awards debuted at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles on March 12. The historic night featured appearances from celebrities like Mindy Kaling, Questlove, Zoe Saldana, and many more.
Nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role is Angela Bassett for her depiction of Queen Ramonda in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” and Michelle Yeoh is up for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her role of Evelyn Quan Wang in the box-office hit “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”
Performing at tonight’s event include pop sensation Lady Gaga, who will perform “Hold My Hand,” and billionaire multi-hyphenated talent Rihanna, who will sing her heartstring-tugging track, “Lift Me Up,” originally released on the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” soundtrack. Lenny Kravitz will lead the ceremony’s “In Memoriam” performance tonight.
