Gabrielle Union is the epitome of cool, and her latest ensemble demonstrates it.
The “Deliver Us from Eva” star shared a photoset on Instagram Monday that showed the actress posing as cool as a cucumber in a neutral ensemble while in Paris—attending Paris Fashion Week. It’s still cold in the city of love, so Union opted for an oversized overcoat. It was double-breasted and in black for a sleek yet functional color palette.
Underneath the coat, Union went with a gray blazer that was also oversized and paired it with a matching gray vest that showed her ability to play with a contrasting color palette. The moment feels reminiscent of Janet in the early-to-mid ‘90s during the “Janet” era in a breezy, composed, and debonair way. These items got t juxtaposed with a pair of slouchy straight-leg jeans, which brings this mental image reference of Janet together gracefully, but with a Parisian cool that only being there can emote.
Union sealed the deal with a pair of black leather pointed-toe boots. The shoes peeped out from under her straight legs jeans and added a nice angular pop.
This trip to Paris Fashion Week was special for Union and her husband, Dwayne Wade, the former Miami Heat Shooting Guard, due to their daughter Zaya Wade making her big runway debut for Miu Miu FW23. Wade strutted down the runway in a brownish-yellow wool suit that felt like a chic spin on office wear. While enveloping her in an oversized cocoon-shaped coat and a matching dress, the young model stepped into a set of brown kitten heels—a staple for the house of Prada.
When it comes to her sartorial tastes, she tends to gravitate towards structured and minimalistic styles as well as edgy and modern ones. She often posts pictures of her wearing oversized blazers and flouncy dresses that fit this aesthetic. The “Daddy’s Little Girl” actress has also strived to make a name for herself in the fashion industry, having starred in campaigns for her eponymous collection with New York & Company and her and her daughter Kaavia James’s collaborative clothing line with Janie and Jack.
