What makes a ‘classic?’ Acne Studios explores this idea for its FW25 men’s collection. 

Known for crafting timeless, versatile pieces, for this collection, Acne Studios explored the different sides of the same man — the urbane and off-duty that juxtaposes the beauty of being dressed up and undone. 

As for the clothing, hues of navy, asphalt grey, deep brown, rust and burgundy appear, as well as vibrant shades of red, orange and denim blue, playing with the mixture of hard and soft and adding whimsicality. 

At the core of the collection is a focus on physique — triangular silhouettes amplified with shoulder pads, low-slung trousers and cropped T-shirts for a revealing yet tasteful look, along with suiting and tailoring inspired by the sleek, cutting-edge power-dressing aesthetic from the 1980s. For a glamorous feel, included were plush, billowing, shearling and shaggy jackets that nod to nostalgic styles. Further, sleek leather trousers, wide-leg trousers and plaid-printed outerwear exude a luxurious vibe that still feels pared back and subtle. 

But the accessories take the collection to another level. In the forms of emblazoned Western-style plaques on belts, a bonnet reminiscent of vintage flight hats and the oversized embossed leather Camero bag, which reinvents the traditional briefcase. These pieces, undoubtedly, have the makings of future icons.

However, honestly, it feels as though this collection has the mid-2000s, college kids, first day at the office vibe — arguably, the Acne Studios FW25 men’s collection is sexy and fun. Undoubtedly, it feels like a classic, and in today’s fashion landscape, what more could you ask for?
