Tinashe Reaches For the Stars in a Marc Jacobs Look and Platform Boots at the 2022 AMAs

Tinashe always brings an avant-garde moment to the red carpet, and her look, at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles last night, didn’t disappoint.

The “Save Room For Us” singer shared a photoset on Instagram today that showcased her black and white outfit. She wore Marc Jacobs and wore a white cropped corset that had a square neckline and thick straps. For drama, Tinashe went with a black maxi skirt with a swinging strap attached to the front. The skirt also had a slit up the back that displayed her shoes.

Next, Tinashe decided to reach for the stars in a pair of black platform boots from Marc Jacobs. The Kiki boot has become a cult classic for Jacobs thanks to his Heaven line—which is a unisex line that doesn’t obey gender constructs. The shoes have a chunky heel and multiple buckles that stretch across the shoes.

When it comes to hair, Tinashe opted to style her black tresses in Bantu knots for the star-studded event. She parted her hair into triangle-shaped parts, adding another visually appealing element to her attire.

Finally, the “2 On” singer slipped on a pair of loose black leather opera gloves, black and white Marc Jacobs shades, and silver chains for a glitzy finish.

The Kentucky native is known for having a modern and fashion-forward sartorial aesthetic. A scroll on her Instagram profile shows her wearing flowy skirts, body-hugging bralettes, and intricate tailoring that all have that unique Tinashe twist. Some designers she has an affinity for are Versace, Coperni, and GCDS.

Tinashe is a multi-hyphenated talent that has won a BET Award and a Soul Train Music Award. She has starred in campaigns for brands like Ralph Lauren, John Frieda, and ShoeDazzle.
